A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona is in line for a return to starting duties in the club’s next outing.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who highlight Pedri as the player in question.

Spanish international Pedri is for his part fresh off marking his return to the pitch in Barcelona’s last fixture.

En route to a comfortable victory over Levante last weekend, the 23-year-old was introduced off the bench following a month on the sidelines with a muscular injury.

And if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then as much looks set to be swiftly followed by a start for Pedri.

Barcelona are primed to return to action on Saturday afternoon, in a La Liga meeting with Villarreal.

And as per a report from Diario Sport, with Frenkie de Jong sidelined once more, the Blaugrana’s engine room is expected to be filled by Pedri and Marc Bernal.
