One of the candidates to be sold by Barcelona this summer is Vitor Roque, despite the fact that the teenage Brazilian only arrived from Athletico Paranaense in January. He struggled for prominence under previous manager Xavi Hernandez, and the club’s sporting department are now prepared to cut ties altogether.
Barcelona’s preference would be to secure a permanent deal, which is why they want offers to arrive from Saudi Arabia. However, it means much more likely than a loan arrangement will need to be settled for, if indeed Roque does depart in some capacity.
That’s because Sport have reported that Roque only considers two options for his immediate future: stay at Barcelona, or join another La Liga club.
Roque’s agent, Andre Cury, has already turned down an approach from Corinthians because of this stance. A loan move to another Spanish club could certainly be a catalyst for the 19-year-old attacker, and he could return to Barcelona next summer with a much better standing than he has now.
