An up-and-coming member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is on the verge of departing the club on a season-long loan.
That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Álex Valle as the player in question.
Full-back Valle for his part has not done enough to convince new Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick of his readiness to contribute on a regular basis this season.
Sitting behind the likes of Alejandro Balde and Gerard Martín in the pecking order of the German tactician, the 20-year-old, who spent last season with Levante, has been increasingly linked with a fresh loan exit.
And, as alluded to above, on Sunday, as much has been all but confirmed.
As per a report from Fabrizio Romano, Valle has put pen to paper on a new contract at the Camp Nou, through the summer of 2026.
Not only that, but the young left-back has agreed to an immediate departure, for Scottish champions Celtic.
