The new contract set to be handed to Barcelona star Marc Bernal will feature a release clause representative of his stellar reputation in Catalunya’s capital.

Youngster Bernal is one of a number of first-team stars in Barcelona set to be rewarded with fresh terms over the weeks ahead.

Considered the long-term future of the engine room setup at the Spotify Camp Nou, the Spaniard, at just 19, is already a prominent figure in Hansi Flick’s first-team ranks.

Across the early weeks of the new campaign, Bernal has been afforded minutes in every one of Barca’s eight fixtures between La Liga and the Champions League.

This importance will imminently be recognised, amid widespread confirmation that the starlet and his entourage have agreed to a new long-term contract with the Spanish champions.

And as alluded to above, this deal will feature a big-money release clause. As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘His release clause will be 500 million euros, according to sources at the club.’
