Barcelona star’s situation has ‘completely turned around’ over the last few days | OneFootball

A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has seen his situation at the club undergo a major shift over the last 48 hours.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Andreas Christensen as the player in question.

The subject of the centre-back options at the disposal of Barcelona boss Hansi Flick has of course emerged as an altogether prominent talking point in Catalunya’s capital over the last couple of days.

This comes after word was forthcoming that, out of the blue, Iñigo Martínez had made the call to depart for Saudi Arabia.

As much has forced those behind the scenes at the Camp Nou into something of a rethink regarding their plans for the campaign ahead.

And as alluded to above, in line to benefit considerably from as much is Andreas Christensen.

As per a report from Sport:

‘Christensen’s situation has completely turned around. Barça had put him on the market because there was overbooking at the back, but the departure of Íñigo Martínez makes him indispensable now.’

The former Chelsea man, in turn, has been tipped to play heavy minutes for the Blaugrana in 2025/26.
