Lewandowski opened the scoring with a well-timed finish after a perfectly weighted pass from Raphinha. His second goal came from a corner, where Inigo Martinez provided a crucial assist with a well-placed header.

Lewandowski’s ability to be in the right place at the right time speaks volumes about his experience and sharpness in the box.

Numbers speak for themselves

His impressive numbers in the Champions League continue to pile up, as Lewandowski now boasts 96 goals in just 122 appearances. This remarkable achievement puts him in an elite group of scorers, showcasing his consistency in Europe’s most prestigious competition.

His goal ratio of 0.79 per game places him alongside Lionel Messi, who shares the same ratio, while surpassing Cristiano Ronaldo’s 0.77 and Ruud van Nistelrooy’s 0.77. Even Karim Benzema trails behind with a 0.59 goal ratio.

Additionally, Lewandowski has now joined an exclusive club of players who have scored more than 50 goals in the Champions League after turning 30. His tally of 51 goals after that milestone is second only to Ronaldo, who netted 68 in the same phase of his career.

At 36, Lewandowski’s hunger for goals remains insatiable. He has started all of Barcelona’s 10 matches this season, proving his endurance and drive to keep performing at the highest level.

Despite being substituted with 10 minutes left against Young Boys, he showed clear signs of frustration, as he was still searching for a hat-trick.

His ambition is evident, and his desire to keep breaking records is what keeps him pushing forward. Lewandowski is not slowing down, and his name continues to be etched in the history books.
