According to a report from Gerard Romero, Dani Olmo’s representatives are frustrated with the ongoing registration issues surrounding the player.

The root of the problem seems to be the delay in the transfers of Clement Lenglet and Mikayil Faye, which has created a bottleneck situation for Olmo’s registration with Barcelona.

It must be noted that Olmo was unable to play in the season opener against Valencia because he was not match-fit.

However, there was hope that he would be registered in time for the match against Athletic Club, but the delays in finalising player departures have complicated matters further.

Problems for Barcelona

Interestingly, even if Barcelona had managed to offload Lenglet and Faye in the last few hours, registering Olmo would still have required several steps with both LaLiga and the German Federation.

This is because his signing is not yet officially recognised by the Spanish football authorities, adding another layer of complexity to the situation.

It seems Barcelona might have foreseen these registration challenges, but this does not change the frustration felt by Olmo’s camp.

The player has been consistently training with the team and is in great physical condition, ready to take part in the Athletic Club game. However, due to the administrative delays, Olmo is left waiting on the sidelines.

As a result of this situation, Hansi Flick has decided to stick with a lineup almost similar to the one used against Valencia.

The only change is in the midfield, where Pedri has replaced Marc Casado in a double pivot. Meanwhile, Marc Bernal has retained his spot in the team, showcasing Flick’s trust in his abilities despite the broader uncertainties in the squad.

Ultimately, the lack of movement in the transfer market and registration issues have left Olmo in a frustrating limbo. His representatives are understandably annoyed by the lack of progress, especially given Olmo’s readiness to contribute on the pitch.
