Earlier today, FC Barcelona signed and announced a new agreement with Uber as their new ‘official partners’.
“FC Barcelona and Uber have signed a strategic agreement, making the transport platform a new Official Partner of the Club until 2027,” the statement read.
The agreement was presented earlier today at an event held at the club facilities, attended by first-team defender Pau Cubarsi, Barcelona’s general director Manel del Rio, and Uber CEO for Spain and Portugal, Felipe Fernandez Aramburu.
Providing details of the agreement, the statement further read: “The partnership aims to improve fan mobility and traffic management around the new Spotify Camp Nou and the various areas of Espai Barça.
“As part of this sponsorship, Uber and Uber Eats will also have advertising space at Spotify Camp Nou and will be able to carry out various corporate and brand-related activities at the stadium.”
Building on that, Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona and the American mobility company have signed a three-year contract worth a total of €3 million, with €1 million paid per year.
As part of the deal, Uber’s branding will appear on advertising boards around the stadium, and several vehicles from its fleet will be painted in Barça colours across the Catalan capital.
The agreement also includes the option to feature the Uber logo on the club’s official vehicles, as well as hospitality benefits on matchdays and image association rights with players.
Furthermore, ahead of the reopening of the Spotify Camp Nou, Uber will establish multiple ‘pick-up points’ around the stadium to facilitate fan arrivals and departures.
