Barcelona to face Birmingham City in pre-season at St Andrew’s | OneFootball

Barcelona will play Birmingham City in a pre-season friendly in the West Midlands next month.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the La Liga side visit St Andrew’s on Friday, 31 July, with kick-off at 7.45pm.

Barcelona, who include teenage forward Lamine Yamal, are the reigning Spanish champions, having finished eight points ahead of Real Madrid last season.

Birmingham chief executive Jeremy Dale said the club are thrilled to welcome Barcelona to St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park, describing it as a memorable occasion for players, supporters and the city.

He said the fixture reflects Birmingham’s ambition and the progress being made across the club, adding that the wider football world is paying attention.

Dale called Barcelona a powerhouse of the game and said they have chosen to start their pre-season with Birmingham, describing the occasion as a fantastic opportunity as the club build towards the new campaign.
