Joao Cancelo's permanent move to Barcelona has contract terms agreed, with only tax details left before an official announcement, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The 32-year-old Al-Hilal defender, contracted until 2027, is on holiday in Sardinia while he waits for the clubs to complete a permanent transfer. He is relaxed and simply wants to play for Barcelona.

Barcelona do not expect everything to be wrapped up before the first-team camp at St George's Park in England towards the end of the month, so Cancelo is most likely to start pre-season with Al-Hilal under Simone Inzaghi.

Portugal exited the World Cup against Spain in the round of 16 a week after Cancelo's loan at Barcelona expired.

Barcelona begin their league campaign on Sunday 23 August at Elche, so time remains to complete the move. For now, Flick can call on Alejandro Balde and reserve Jofre Torrents at left-back, plus Gerard Martin, who has been operating at centre-back.

Teenage left-back Jordi Pesquer, 17, trained on Tuesday, while Balde followed an individual programme.
