In a summer where Barcelona are expected to make some big signings, the club will be keen on earning revenue from each and every possible source.
While the club are majorly relying on the sale of a few first-team stars to generate revenue, Barça also hold a series of clauses for their former players, such as Oscar Mingueza, with the club owning 50% of the player’s transfer rights.
However, as we approach the end of the season, it appears Barcelona could face a major setback as Mingueza may leave his current club as a free agent.

According to SPORT, Mingueza has not responded to Celta Vigo’s renewal offer ahead of the end of the season.
With his contract expiring at the end of next month, the clock is ticking, and Barcelona are becoming increasingly resigned to missing out on any financial benefit from his departure.
This could be a major blow for Barça, as Juventus were linked with an offer of around €15 million for the defender last season.
Half of that sum would have gone directly to Barcelona under the terms of the agreement with Celta. With Mingueza seemingly heading for a free transfer, that money will not be coming.

Celta Vigo manager Claudio Giraldez addressed the situation at his press conference and refused to write off the possibility of a renewal entirely.
“No, he hasn’t said goodbye to us at all. I can’t say whether I’m optimistic or not; we’ll see what happens. I know they’ve been talking all year,” he said.
Giraldez made clear he would welcome Mingueza staying.
“The sooner this saga is over, the better for everyone. If he stays here, I’d be delighted, and if not, I wish him all the best because he’s an exceptional person and a great footballer,” he concluded.
