Barcelona have wrapped up a deal for Anthony Gordon and are already targeting further additions. El Chiringuito reports that they have begun working on a move for Bernardo Silva.

Barcelona are also pursuing Julian Alvarez, while plans to recruit another midfielder continue. The expected departure of Marc Casado, who has questioned his future after limited minutes in recent months, would open a slot in Hansi Flick’s 2026-27 midfield.

There is quality with Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Gavi and Marc Bernal, yet experience is thin. Silva would address that shortfall.

Jorge Mendes, close to president Joan Laporta, has held talks with Barcelona in recent months over a possible deal for the soon-to-be-former Manchester City player. Interest had been muted, but that now appears to be shifting. Silva is thought to prioritise a move to the Spotify Camp Nou.

Beyond any headline arrivals, Barcelona lack seasoned options. Silva could offer depth in midfield and cover on the right, potentially understudying Lamine Yamal.

Whether Barcelona ultimately move for him remains unclear. Atletico Madrid are also interested in the 31-year-old, and his future is unlikely to be settled until after Portugal’s 2026 World Cup campaign.
