A leading member of the summer transfer wishlist at La Liga champions Barcelona was on Tuesday spotted in Catalunya’s capital.

The player in question? Joan García.

Goalkeeper Joan has of course long taken his place front and centre in the headlines at Barcelona.

This comes amid widespread confirmation that, after identifiying the 24-year-old as a priority summer addition, the Blaugrana have paid his release clause in full to La Liga.

Official confirmation of Joan’s arrival at the Camp Nou, in turn, is considered imminent.

And as alluded to above, on Tuesday afternoon, a major development towards this announcement was forthcoming.

Joan spent the last week enjoying a well-earned vacation, sanctioned by Espanyol following his heroics in aiding the club staving of relegation to the 2nd tier.

Barcelona’s long-awaited statement regarding Joan’s signing, in turn, is expected on Wednesday morning.
