Paris FC visit Barcelona on Wednesday for the opening league-phase match in the Women’s Champions League, a daunting trip given their recent away form.

According to L'Équipe, after Paris Saint-Germain drew 1-1 at Real Madrid on Tuesday, it is now Paris FC’s turn to begin the 2026-2027 edition.

Barcelona have won four of the past six editions and are the holders after a 4-0 win over OL Lyonnes in last season’s final. Their last home defeat was on 23 April 2025. They have reached six straight finals and sit top of the UEFA coefficient.

Paris FC’s recent away form against Europe’s elite has been unconvincing. They lost friendlies to Bayern Munich 2-0 and Arsenal 1-0, then were beaten 7-1 by OL Lyonnes in the Arkema Première Ligue.

They also faced Barcelona in last season’s league phase and lost 0-2. A positive result here would set them up to host Arsenal next Wednesday.
