The future of Robert Lewandowski continues to be a hot topic at Barcelona, as the forward approaches the final few months of his contract at Barcelona.
Everything suggests the veteran forward will not continue at Barcelona and instead move on to pastures new, with Major League Soccer emerging as a potential destination.
Barcelona, for their part, have already started looking for a long-term replacement for Lewandowski, with Julian Alvarez being one of the top candidates.
According to Diario SPORT, Lewandowski is increasingly close to a move to MLS, with Chicago Fire going all out to sign the Polish international.
The MLS outfit have been linked with a move for the former Borussia Dortmund striker for a long time now and hasn’t stopped trying to convince the player to move to the United States.

Now, with his contract expiring at the end of the season, Chicago Fire have officially submitted an offer to sign the veteran forward.
The MLS outfit have offered a two-year contract to Lewandowski, with a salary befitting his role as the club’s first real global superstar.
The report adds that Chicago Fire have made steady progress in their bid to sign Lewandowski, with the player’s wife recently visiting the city in November and an official delegation in December.
There are several factors within Chicago itself that could sway Lewandowski, including the fact that the city has the largest diaspora of Polish people in the United States.
The coming months, therefore, could be critical as Chicago Fire look to finalise the acquisition of the Barcelona forward.
