One of the major uncertainties at FC Barcelona, heading into the final phase of the season, has to do with the future of striker Robert Lewandowski.
The 37-year-old centre-forward is in the final few months of his contract, which expires on 30 June 2026.
So far, there have been no offers from the club to renew the deal, while the player himself has not appeared in any hurry to make a decision.
In the meantime, Lewandowski continues to perform admirably on the pitch for Barça, racking up 12 goals and three assists from 26 appearances in all competitions.
Now, according to Polish journalist Tomasz Wlodarczyk, Lewandowski will make a decision about his future no earlier than in April.
The veteran forward wishes to wait until after the Barcelona presidential elections, scheduled for March 15, before opening talks with the club about what’s next.

The report states that Lewandowski already held a meeting with MLS club Chicago Fire in December, where the USA-based outfit gave a detailed presentation of their project and how he would fit into the vision.
Meanwhile, Lewandowski is also fielding constant enquiries from teams in Saudi Arabia, and it also remains an option.
The Poland captain is understood to prioritise a stay at Barcelona, although it would mean that he would have to accept a secondary role as well as a reduced salary.
For now, though, no immediate decision is expected from Lewandowski and his camp, who will wait until April to make a final call on where he will play next season.
