A trio of leading clubs from across Europe could well do battle over the signature of Athletic Club star Nico Williams this summer.

That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who has provided an insight into the latest word surrounding the 22-year-old’s future.

Nico’s name has of course reemerged as an altogether prominent one in the Spanish media headlines over the last 24 hours.

This comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that the winger’s agent, Félix Tainta, had held a surprise meeting with Barcelona.

As much came with a view to Tainta making clear Nico’s eagerness to make the move to the Camp Nou this summer.

As alluded to above, though, should Barca ultimately opt to move ahead with a move for the Athletic Club standout, they will be forced to beat out stiff competition for his signature.

As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano:

‘Barcelona got clear message from the player on being open to joining the club this summer. Bayern are willing to make an effort, he’s still also on Arsenal list while Barça have their chance now.’
