One final test now awaits FC Barcelona as the team looks to take on Italian side Como. An exciting fixture, it will be hosted at the Johan Cruyff Stadium as the clash for the annual Joan Gamper Trophy. However, La Blaugrana can not afford to take this game lightly.
After all, it is the final game before the start of the new season and it is crucial for the Catalan giants to maintain their positive momentum. Following the victory over Daegu FC, Barça will want to win this game as well.
Fortunately for Hansi Flick’s side, this game will also likely test them much more than their other preseason games. The reason for that is Como’s quality and their own recent form, one that has been commendable to say the least.
So far, the Italian side has played four friendly games. The games were against the likes of Lille, Al Ahli, Ajax, and most recently La Liga side Real Betis. Despite the quality of those opponents, Como ended up winning every single game.

That is the quality of the team led by Cesc Fabregas. For that exact reason, Flick’s side will need to be at their best and it is expected that the German coach will end up deploying a strong starting eleven as well.
As for La Blaugrana, they have played three friendly games so far in preseason. Against Asian sides Vissel Kobe, FC Seoul, and Daegu FC, the Catalan giants managed to win every single game as well.
Thus, this match promises to be an exciting clash for both teams and will test their current preparation. However, Barça and Hansi Flick should keep in mind that they lost last year’s edition of the game against AS Monaco, so they need to get back to winning ways in the Joan Gamper Trophy as well.
