El Clasico takes centre stage in LaLiga today in a fourth and final battle of the season that will have huge ramifications on a thrilling title race. It’s an unusually late time in the campaign for such a momentous derby, with Barca having already thrashed their fiercest rivals at both the Bernabeu and to lift the Spanish Super Cup before Jules Kounde’s dramatic extra-time winner in a pulsating Copa del Rey final held only two weeks ago.

It means the stakes are incredibly high, with another win for Barcelona in this fixture all but wrapping up the title given that they currently sit four points clear of Real Madrid at the summit with only three games left after today. Los Blancos therefore desperately need a victory to keep alive their hopes of taking things down to the wire, with Carlo Ancelotti set for his final Clasico as he prepares to leave the club and be replaced by Xabi Alonso.

Ancelotti starts Arda Guler in attack again this afternoon, while the hosts have top scorer Robert Lewandowski only on the bench. Follow Barcelona vs Real Madrid in El Clasico live below!

Ancelotti: My honeymoon with Real Madrid will last forever

It is easy to forget of late given all the reports of his imminent exit that this season saw Carlo Ancelotti become the most successful coach in Real Madrid history.

The Italian has lifted 15 pieces of major silverware in total across his two spells at the Bernabeu, overtaking the legendary Miguel Munoz.

And despite those recent struggles and his impending second departure, Ancelotti insists his honeymoon with Real Madrid will never end.

“The honeymoon never ends with this club,” he said. “It will continue forever.

“Both Real Madrid and [AC] Milan are teams that stay in my heart more than others because of the time I've spent here and because I feel so good here.

“It's like relationships. At first, there's a lot of passion, and when it subsides, affection and other things increase.

“The honeymoon will last until the last day of my life.

“I don't know [if I’m the coach who best represents Real Madrid’s DNA].

“Real Madrid is a special club that deserves a special attitude from everyone who works here. It's what I've always tried to do every day.”

On his likely successor Xabi Alonso, Ancelotti added: “I've read that you're leaving Bayer Leverkusen.

“You've done a fantastic job there, and all doors are open to you because you've proven to be one of the best coaches in the world.”

Barcelona 'on right track' despite gutting Champions League exit

Barcelona could be forgiven for having something of a hangover today from Tuesday night’s gutting result at the San Siro, though Hansi Flick insists his side are in good spirits after holding open talks in the build-up to kick-off.

“We are doing well. After the defeat in Milan, it's not easy, but we are on the right track,” he said.

“We talked about what we want to achieve in the remaining two weeks. There are four games left, and a Clasico like tomorrow's is a very important match for us.

“It's crucial to show once again how well we can play. We must have confidence and demonstrate it in what we want to do.

“The players are showing very good form.

"We talked about what the players think and feel, and I believe it’s important to discuss these things openly.

“Everyone knows that in a game like El Clasico, we need to give 100 per cent, be active, play with intensity, and dominate,

“Real Madrid is also a fantastic team, but we are playing at home, we have our fans’ support, and they know how important this is for us.”

Clasico atmosphere building

Looks like a party atmosphere already this afternoon outside Barcelona’s temporary home at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys, which could be holding its final Clasico clash today before the club move back into a renovated Camp Nou.

The passionate home fans clearly expect another statement win over Real Madrid today to all but guarantee the LaLiga title.

Lewandowski, Balde and Casado on Barcelona bench

Hansi Flick opts for the same Barcelona lineup that started Tuesday night’s heartbreaking 4-3 extra-time defeat by Inter Milan in the Champions League semi-finals.

Wojciech Szczesny is still in goal despite the return to fitness of Marc-Andre ter Stegen, with Eric Garcia and Gerard Martin continuing in defence with no Jules Kounde and Alejandro Balde on the bench.

Pedri and Frenkie de Jong continue as the midfield pair, with Lamine Yamal, Dani Olmo and Raphinha in support of Ferran Torres up top.

Robert Lewandowski and Marc Casado are substitutes as expected after injury, along with Balde.

Ancelotti set for final Clasico before Alonso takes Real Madrid reins

Today’s game is the last Clasico of Carlo Ancelotti’s hugely successful second spell in charge of Real Madrid, with the writing having been on the wall for some time in terms of his future at the Bernabeu amid fears over a rare trophyless campaign (not counting the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Intercontinental Cup).

Former Los Blancos midfielder Xabi Alonso has long since been expected to take the reins next, with his exit at the end of the current Bundesliga season confirmed officially by Bayer Leverkusen on Friday.

Ancelotti could not resist a final little dig at Barca in his pre-match press conference on Friday, explaining that this was the last Clasico of the season because Madrid’s rivals are not in the expanded Club World Cup in the United States this summer.

On the continued speculation over his future, he said: “It's not that complicated to prepare for these matches because there's no need to prepare the players.

“You have to give them the clearest possible ideas about how they should play the match.

“What's happening around us hasn't affected us at all this week. We're fine and very confident. No problems.”

Real Madrid unchanged as Arda Guler starts again

Real Madrid do name their team early as usual and, as expected, Carlo Ancelotti has gone with an unchanged lineup for his final Clasico fixture in charge.

His glut of defensive injuries means Aurelien Tchouameni continues alongside Raul Asencio at the back, with Fran Garcia and Lucas Vazquez - who captains the side - the full-backs and Thibaut Courtois in goal.

Club skipper Luka Modric is only on the bench and Eduardo Camavinga still out as Federico Valverde and Dani Ceballos continue in the midfield engine room.

The headline team news is in attack, where Ancelotti rewards Arda Guler for his fine performance against Celta Vigo with another start alongside the star trio of Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr.

That is despite Rodrygo now being back from illness, with the Brazilian named as a substitute.

Barcelona Femeni win 9-0 to clinch sixth straight Liga F title

A fourth win of the season for Barcelona over their fiercest rivals this afternoon would take them seven points clear at the LaLiga summit with only three games to play this season - surely an unassailable advantage.

And ahead of kick-off, Barcelona Femeni have wrapped up yet another title in the Liga F.

Pere Romeu’s team thrashed Real Betis 9-0 earlier at the Ciudad Deportiva Luis de Sol to clinch a sixth consecutive championship and 10th overall, having opened up a six-point lead over closest challengers Real Madrid with just one game left to play.

Madrid had been held to a 1-1 draw at home by Tenerife on Saturday.

Though that painful Champions League semi-final exit to Inter Milan cost Hansi Flick’s men’s side the chance of a treble this season, the women could still do it again with a Champions League final showdown with Arsenal in Lisbon to come on May 24, followed by the Copa de la Reina final against Atletico Madrid in June.

El Clasico prediction

Barcelona simply have Real Madrid’s number this season and their attack should have too much for a weakened defence.

Furthermore, Hansi Flick’s side will be fired up after their heartbreaking Champions League semi-final exit and what better way to respond by taking a giant step towards the LaLiga title and beating their bitter rivals again in the process?

Of course, Los Blancos should not be counted out. With Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr and Jude Bellingham, they have plenty of goals in this team.

The problem is they are likely to concede more than they score.

Barcelona to win, 3-1.
