A big match arrives for FC Barcelona in the form of yet another El Clasico this season. With Real Madrid now set to visit the Montjuic Stadium, this game is a potential La Liga decider right here. However, Barcelona will need to bounce back following their defeat to Inter Milan.
As the fourth official El Clasico this season, this is yet another game that could potentially decide a major title. So far, Barcelona have had the upper hand when it comes to such games between the two sides, but needing a result here is crucial in order to end the season on a high note.
For both teams, this game will be nothing short of a final. Real Madrid are currently four points behind Barcelona in the league table, and the Catalan giants could improve their lead to seven points if they win. In terms of what is at stake, it does not get much bigger than this.
Unfortunately for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, Barcelona have completely decimated them this season. Having already met four times during this campaign, Hansi Flick’s team managed to win each and every single encounter, including two domestic cup final victories.
The first loss of the season for Real Madrid to Barcelona came at the Santiago Bernabeu in La Liga. A 4-0 thrashing, Barcelona gave them a taste of what was to come. Then, in the Spanish Super Cup final, Barça once again won with a convincing 5-2 score-line.

Most recently, La Blaugrana also beat Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final with an entertaining 3-2 victory thanks to a late extra-time winner from Jules Kounde. Now, however, both teams will be gearing up for their final encounter of this campaign.
In terms of form, Real Madrid have definitely improved compared to before. Across their last five games, Los Blancos have managed to win three games and have lost two. The wins came against Celta Vigo, Getafe, and Athletic Club. As for the losses, those came against Barcelona and Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League.
Barcelona, on the other hand, have been more impressive. Across their last five games, they have three wins, one draw, and one loss. The loss and draw came against Inter Milan in a close Champions League tie that was decided based on the thinnest of margins, and their wins came against Real Madrid, Real Valladolid, and RCD Mallorca.
In terms of goals, Barça’s offensive quality was on full display against Inter Milan as they managed to score six goals against Europe’s best defense across two legs. Moreover, they managed to score thrice against Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final as well.
Defensively, however, Hansi Flick’s team definitely needs to sort things out. Ahead of the game itself, the German coach has already revealed his plans for certain positions in the starting eleven and it will be interesting to see just how he plans to manage this crucial fixture.
