Barcelona were limited to just a single goal by Roma in the first leg of their Women's Champions League quarter-final tie last week, leaving the second leg tighter and with more to play for than most might have expected.

Teenage forward Salma Paralluelo scored the only goal at the historic Stadio Olimpico, with Roma impressing in the first ever European knockout game.

As many as 60,000 people are expected for the second leg in Barcelona, with all ties at this stage of the competition move to each club's primary stadium.

Since the first leg, Barcelona scraped a late 1-0 win over Real Madrid in Liga F's Clasico to extend their winning run to 58 games stretching back to June 2021.

Roma haven't actually been in action since the first leg, meaning they could be fresher for this one.

Barcelona team news

Alexia Putellas is not yet ready to return but did start training with her teammates for the first time on Monday. Claudia Pina and Mariona Caldentey are also still absent from the squad to face Roma, having already missed the first leg.

Elisa Bartoli and former Barcelona skipper Vicky Losada were both able to play part of the first leg, despite being slight doubts beforehand, and have had another eight days to build fitness.

Forwards Paloma Lazaro, Nina Kajzba and Sophie Roman Haug haven't made the trip to Spain.

Barcelona vs Roma score prediction

Regardless of the close score-line in the first leg, Barcelona were by far the dominant team and could have easily got four, five or more on another day - Asisat Oshoala in particular missed a hat-trick of good chances to run up the score.

Even with a challenging win over Real Madrid played since, the outstanding quality in the Barcelona ranks is plain to see and should come to the fore here.

The return to training for Putellas, although with no direct impact on this game from her, could even serve to boost morale in the wider squad.
