Barcelona are starting to feel anxious about the situation of Ansu Fati as despite excluding him from their plans for the next season, the club has not received any offers for the player, claims a report from SPORT.

As of July 1st, Ansu is back with Barcelona after an unremarkable loan spell with Brighton and his future with the club remains uncertain.

Now, Barcelona are keen to offload him, but the main issue is the lack of offers. No transfer proposals came in last summer, and the same situation persists this summer.

It must be noted that one significant reason for Barcelona’s desire to part ways with Ansu is his high salary coupled with the concerns about his fitness. The team, in its current state, requires players who can deliver immediate results on the field.

Barcelona do not want Ansu to continue

Currently, the situation is back in Barcelona’s hands. The club have decided that they do not see a future for Ansu with them, and Deco has communicated this to the player.

Now, several factors influenced this decision: firstly, his high salary and a contract that runs until 2027.

Secondly, from a sporting perspective, he is not progressing as expected, and Barcelona, given their financial challenges, need players who can contribute immediately.

Worrying signs for Barcelona

The major concern is the absence of firm offers to sign him. No such offers arrived last summer, and none have come in this summer either.

This situation worries the club’s sports management and the club itself, which needs to free up high-salary players to strengthen the squad under the new coach, Hansi Flick.

Although some clubs have shown interest in acquiring Ansu Fati, the proposals have not exceeded 30% of the total amount needed, leaving the problem unresolved.

For now, Barcelona plan to take a patient approach and observe how the summer transfer market evolves.

In the meantime, the German coach will include Ansu in the team and intends to give him a prominent role during the pre-season. The goal is to showcase his potential and attract interest from clubs that might want to invest in him.
