Barcelona lost Inigo Martinez to Al-Nassr earlier this year in a surprise manner out of the blue when the player decided to leave the club for an economically superior offer from the Middle East-based club.

The Saudi Arabian giants offered the player a massive salary that he could not refuse, and while the move did help Barcelona in a financial sense, it complicated matters in terms of their defensive depth.

Reports earlier this week brought to light that Al-Nassr are targeting a new Barcelona player, and it is none other than the young midfield phenom Marc Bernal. After all, they still have a window to sign under-21 players this summer.

No desire to leave

However, as relayed by Mundo Deportivo, the young midfielder does not consider a change in scenery in any capacity, especially given that he is just returning from a long-term injury.

Bernal is widely touted as one of La Masia’s best young midfield talents, and the club extended him complete support through his recovery during a difficult period.

He is now close to returning to the field, and the thought of a departure does not cross his mind.

The teenager has received several offers this summer that he has not even turned to look at, and it is clear that his only dream is to succeed at the Catalan club. He is determined to make the most of his chances under Hansi Flick.

Bernal has made his desire clear to the board and the management, and even the club do not contemplate parting ways with him any any capacity.

As such, the youngster will thus stay in Hansi Flick’s plans and compete for minutes in the coming months, although his integration will understandably be slow and phased over time to prevent a recurrence.
