The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona have made the call to recall a member of the club’s goalkeeper ranks from international duty.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Diego Kochen as the player in question.
Youngster Kochen for his part recently departed Catalunya’s capital to link up with his native USA.
As much came ahead of the fast-approaching U20 World Cup.
Over the last 24 hours, however, developments back in Barcelona have seen the plans for Kochen shift dramatically.
Joan García was on Friday condemned to a long-term incoming spell on the sidelines, owing to a meniscus tear.
As a result, Wojciech Szczęsny is set to return to first-choice duties for the weeks ahead.
With Kochen having acted as the third-choice goalkeeper in Hansi Flick’s squad since Marc-André ter Stegen underwent surgery, the 19-year-old is therefore required back in Spain as soon as possible.
As per a report from MD, the call has been made for the young American to depart his national team camp with immediate effect, ahead of linking up with Barcelona’s senior squad for Sunday’s La Liga meeting with Real Sociedad.
