One such player earmarked for a departure happens to be young right-back Hector Fort, who has a lot of interest but has yet to narrow down on his next destination.

Real Sociedad want Fort, but price tag an issue

Real Sociedad are becoming more active in the transfer market, with their defence currently a major concern.

The team has conceded more goals than expected and, beyond bringing in a centre-back, they also want to strengthen at right-back. somewhat inexperienced. This is where Fort enters the picture.

Barça’s current position is that Fort should leave on a permanent transfer, with the club looking for between €10 million and €15 million.

However, those figures are very high for Real Sociedad, particularly given that right-back is not considered an especially urgent position for them.

Real Sociedad prefer a loan arrangement

As per the report, Real Sociedad had been considering a loan deal. Fort spent last season on loan at Elche, and that is the type of arrangement that would appeal to the Basque club.

However, the player’s representatives are aware that, even if a loan were considered, Barça would demand a substantial purchase option.

Real Sociedad are not the only Spanish club to have shown interest in the 20-year-old full-back.

However, they are all facing the same complicated situation, and everything suggests that if Fort does leave Barcelona, his destination is likely to be abroad.

Even so, Fort is interested in Real Sociedad and would view a move to the club very positively if there were a significant change in circumstances.
