Barcelona fans are eagerly awaiting the return of marquee summer signing Dani Olmo, who suffered an injury just three games into his second stint at the club.

Having arrived from RB Leipzig in the summer, the La Masia trainee had to wait for a couple of games to make his debut as Barça sorted out his registration issues.

Once he started playing, Olmo was looking in unstoppable form, scoring three goals in three games, before injury struck in the match against Girona.

Olmo is tipped to make his comeback later this month – in the match against Sevilla right after the international break.

Barcelona’s meticulous planning

Now, Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona are meticulously planning the return of Olmo, with a key objective in mind – ensuring that he is match-fit to start in El Clasico against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.

As per the update, the Blaugrana coaching staff has devised a gradual reintegration plan for the Spanish international.

That Olmo will be cleared for the game against Sevilla is no doubt. But Barça’s idea is for the former RB Leipzig man to play approximately only 30 minutes in this La Liga fixture at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.

Meanwhile, in the subsequent match – a crucial UEFA Champions League clash against Bayern Munich – Barcelona plan on increasing Olmo’s time on the field to around 45 minutes.

In the end, the ultimate goal is for Olmo to be fit enough to start the Clasico vs Real Madrid, potentially playing up to 60 minutes at the Bernabeu.

This measured approach aims to ensure Olmo’s full recovery while gradually building his match fitness. However, the plan remains flexible and will be adjusted based on the player’s performance and physical response after each game.

The club’s medical department and coaching staff are working closely to ensure Olmo’s reintegration is smooth and successful, potentially providing a crucial advantage in the upcoming high-stakes matches.

The return of Olmo, along with the imminent comebacks of Fermin Lopez and Gavi, will significantly boost Barcelona’s squad depth as they face a challenging stretch of fixtures.
