Barcelona and Spain star Lamine Yamal has sent a message of well wishes the way of both Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo, and Brazilian icon Neymar Jr.

This of course comes fresh off both taking to the pitch for what is expected to be the final time at the FIFA World Cup.

In the case of the latter, Ronaldo’s Portugal were sent packing by none other than Spain in the Last-16, owing to a solitary Mikel Merino strike. Now 41 years of age, the veteran frontman’s time on international football’s grandest stage has in turn reached its close.

Neymar, meanwhile, notched what proved to be a consolation goal in the closing moments of Brazil’s Last-16 defeat at the hands of Norway. Plagued by injuries and entering the twilight years of his career, the gifted winger’s World Cup endeavours are therefore also considered as complete.

And as alluded to above, one individual sad to see both go comes in the form of Lamine Yamal.

Drawn on the names of the legendary attacking pair during an interview with Mundo Deportivo this week, youngster Lamine responded:

“Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar have been key figures for my generation since we were kids. I wish them all the best.”
