Nearly two months after joining Barcelona, Roony Bardghji made his official debut for the first team on Sunday at Estadi Johan Cruyff.

With Lamine Yamal injured and Raphinha reportedly punished for being late to a pre-match briefing, Bardghji was thrust right into the starting lineup against Valencia.

Bardghji has quickly won over the Barcelona locker room

Now, according to SPORT, from day one, Roony Bardghji impressed everyone in the Barcelona dressing room with his humility.

The 19-year-old winger arrived with some uncertainty, as it was not entirely clear whether he would join the first team or the B team, but it soon became evident that he had the potential to spend the full season under Flick’s orders.

The Swede left a strong impression in training and scored in his first pre-season match. A skilful, imaginative footballer, he has committed to polishing details alongside the coaching staff to accelerate what is proving to be a surprisingly smooth adaptation.

Off the pitch, Bardghji has also made his mark. He is approachable, polite, and integrates naturally into the dressing room. His fluent English helps communication with Flick, the staff, and several teammates.

Away from football, he has struck up friendships with the likes of Jules Kounde and Marcus Rashford, spending time with them when schedules allow.

Winning over the fans

Another trait that sets Bardghji apart is his treatment of fans. Outside the Ciutat Esportiva, he often stops to show gratitude, sign autographs, pose for photos, and, most notably, chat with supporters waiting each day.

It is something rare in the squad and highly valued by those who follow the team closely. Last week provided the perfect example: Armand, a loyal fan at Sant Joan Despi, gifted him a framed picture from pre-season.

That day, Bardghji exited via the back door to avoid crowds, and though dozens of fans rushed towards his car, he could not stop to thank Armand.

The very next day, however, he spotted Armand among the crowd, not an easy feat given the numbers present, and stopped his car to speak with him personally. He thanked him and admitted: “I liked it so much that I’ve put it on a shelf at home.”

In a short time, Bardghji has already earned the respect of his teammates and the sporting department and is winning the hearts of the fans as well.
