Over the past six months or so, FC Barcelona and Nike have had their fair share of ups and downs.

From being on the brink of terminating their contract, the two parties are now locked in negotiations over new terms that would be one of the most lucrative kit deals in football.

When will the deal be announced?

Barcelona unveiled their new home kits for the 2024/25 season this past Thursday but the new deal with Nike has yet to be officially announced.

Now, though, X user and kit insider ‘Memorabilia1899‘ has brought forward an update on the same.

As per the report, there is a possibility that the new deal between Barcelona and Nike might be announced during the club’s pre-season tour of the United States of America.

Barça will fly to the USA on July 28 where they are scheduled to play three pre-season friendlies against Manchester City, Real Madrid, and AC Milan.

And it is being suggested that the Catalans might make use of this trip to announce their new contract with Nike.

A lucrative agreement

The major bone of contention between Barcelona and Nike was over the terms of their existing deal as the club felt that it was worth below what they deserved.

As such, the Catalans are now set to be rewarded with a very lucrative contract which would see them earn a fixed sum of €90 million per year with additional bonuses.

On top of that, Nike will also pay a signing bonus worth €150 million, which will be a huge boost for Barcelona in their bid to return to the 1:1 Fair Play rule.
