Barcelona’s Spotify Camp Nou is transforming into a modern footballing fortress, with the latest developments offering a promising glimpse into the future.
According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, construction work on the third tier of the new stadium is now ‘entering its final stages’.
The outlet mentions that the progress was clearly visible during Barcelona’s recent Champions League clash against Newcastle United, where fans were able to witness first-hand how the upper sections of the stadium are taking shape.
Notably, after the club received the 1C licence, Barcelona were allowed to occupy newly built stands in the Gol Nord area, with the stadium now holding a capacity of 62,652 spectators.
The third tier is now largely formed, with concrete almost entirely poured across the upper sections, with only a small portion above the South Stand remaining unfinished.
Beyond seating, developments are also underway in the premium areas of the stadium.

Several VIP zones are beginning to take shape, including the ‘Pitch Club’ and ‘Main Hub’ located in the Main Stand, along with the ‘Mini Hub’.
Looking ahead, once the third tier is fully completed and the roof structure is installed, the new Camp Nou is expected to deliver a visually striking and technologically advanced experience.
While there is still work to be done, the current pace of progress suggests that Barcelona’s ambitious project is firmly on track.
For now, patience is required. However, judging by Joan Laporta’s words, it is expected that the structure will be completed by the end of the year and the installation of the roof will begin in 2027.
But based on what has already been built, the completion of this grand theatre will be a sight to behold.
