PSG’s forward line is set to look different this season, with Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye pushed to the fringes and fresh competition following the arrivals of Torres, Godts and Maghnes Akliouche.
Maghnes Akliouche made his second start for PSG in the Trophée des champions on 17 August, a game that finished 0-1. According to L'Équipe, Paris Saint-Germain no longer appear to be counting on Barcola and Mbaye, at least until the end of the transfer window.
Luis Enrique has repeated that he only wants players who are 100 per cent committed to the Paris project.
As a result, the head coach faces weekly selection calls to shape his front three, with places far from guaranteed.
Barcola and Mbaye remain at the club for now, their futures unresolved until the window shuts, while competition for places is already intense.
