Football is a funny old game.
The players you don’t have are always the ones you want, and the ones who are out injured or aren’t in the team are the ones you’re convinced will change things.
The perfect example is Chelsea’s winger conundrum this season – fans had seen a lot of Noni Madueke in the last few years and were by and large pretty happy to let him leave to roll the dice on Jamie Gittens.
They were much less convinced by the move for Alejandro Garnacho, who was basically given the boot from Manchester United. Now, after just a couple of games, they’re tired of Gittens already, and want Garnacho in the team.
He did make a positive impact on Saturday night, even taking into consideration how his mistake cost his team 2 points. On the London is Blue podcast, Matt Law has been talking up the Argentine, claiming he thinks he could be a really good signing.

“I’ve always really liked Garnacho as a player,” Law said.
“I think he’s got a really good skillset. Manchester United reported James Ducker, who’s really close to United, is convinced United will really regret letting Garnacho go for £40m. He really thinks that in the fullness of time this will be seen as a bargain for Chelsea. I don’t know about ‘bargain’, but I definitely feel positive about it and I think it’s a really good signing.”

We’re certainly excited to see what comes next – it’s easy to forget that Garnacho was one of the top young players in the league a couple of years ago. If he can get back to that, we will indeed have found a bargain.
