Derby County face a tough test against Wycombe Wanderers as they look to continue their unbeaten record.
The Rams are unbeaten in 15 league games heading into this game as they look to put the pressure on Ipswich Town in third place.
Derby will be going into the game with Paul Warne having just won the manager of the month for January with the hope they can use their momentum to overcome a tough Wycombe side.
Gareth Ainsworth’s side boast one of the best home records in League One and will be full of confidence having won their last two league games.
This is exactly the type of game Derby need to overcome if they are achieve a place in the top two, with a win likely to send a message out to the three teams above them.
Here, we look at how Warne might line up ahead of the game against the Chairboys.
It’s likely that Warne will not stray too far away from the formula that has proved successful since mid-December.
Whilst they will be without Max Bird for the game, they have more than enough options to cope with the lost of star midfielder. Not only that, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Curtis Davies involved in the game at some point to deal with the aerial bombardment likely to come from Wycombe.
However, starting in goal will be Joe Wildsmith who will be hoping to keep his 14th clean sheet of the season. At right-back, Korey Smith will continue with Haydon Roberts preferred over Louie Sibley at left back.
The big call will be at centre back, but with Eiran Cashin’s exemplary aerial record, it would be a poor decision to drop him for Davies, with his partnership with Craig Forsyth likely to continue.
Warne could start Harvey White alongside Conor Hourihane, but it’s likely Jason Knight will be preferred, with White being eased into proceedings in a Rams shirt.
Tom Barkhuizen could come in for Dobbin, with the Everton loanee impressing against Morecambe last week as Warne looks to choose the experience of the former Preston man, with Nathaniel Mendez-Laing being deployed on the opposite flank.
David McGoldrick will be hoping to score his second away goal of the season, as he supports James Collins in attack.
