Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion travel to Oakwell on Tuesday for a third-round Carabao Cup tie against League One outfit Barnsley.
Both teams will be looking to bounce back from disappointing weekend results, with Brighton in particular hoping to end a long-standing poor record in this competition. For Barnsley, the match offers a chance to cause a major upset against top-flight opposition.
Manager Conor Hourihane is without Georgie Gent, Fabio Jalo, and Marc Roberts due to injury. He is expected to rotate his squad following their weekend league defeat at Blackpool, giving opportunities to a number of fringe players.
Fabian Hurzeler will make significant changes to his side and is dealing with a number of injuries. He remains without long-term absentees Adam Webster and Solly March, and has now also lost Jack Hinshelwood to a long-term ligament injury sustained against Bournemouth.
The Tykes have had a decent start to their League One campaign, winning six of their ten games. However, their confidence took a knock with a 1-0 defeat at Blackpool on Saturday. The club also has a poor record in this stage of the competition, having failed to progress to the fourth round since 2009.
The Seagulls are struggling for defensive consistency, with just one clean sheet in six matches this season. Their vulnerabilities were exposed at the weekend when they threw away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Tottenham. Brighton also have a dreadful history in the EFL Cup, having last reached the quarter-finals in 1979.
Barnsley predicted XI: Cooper; Ogbeta, Earl, Shepherd, Watson; Connell, Bland; McGoldrick, Phillips, Vickers; Keillor-Dunn.
Brighton predicted XI: Steele; Wieffer, Boscagli, Kadioglu, Veltman; Coppola, Gruda; Ayari, Milner, Gomez; Tzimas.
The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports+ in the UK. Coverage begins at 7:30 pm BST.
