Bartina Koeman dies aged 65, wife of former Valencia player Ronald Koeman

Bartina Koeman Boddeveld, wife of former Valencia player Ronald Koeman, died on Tuesday 15 September at the age of 65, the family said in a statement.

She had lived with chronic breast cancer since 2010, with the illness returning in 2018 and again in 2023.

Koeman discussed the situation on the television programme Eva, presented by Eva Jinek, after missing a Netherlands training session in October last year for reasons related to his wife.

Ronald and Bartina Koeman married in 1985 and have three children, Debbie, Tim and the goalscoring goalkeeper Ronald Jr.

Bartina Koeman Boddeveld was born on 30 January 1961 and died on 15 September 2026.
