Johan Manzambi (20) is enjoying a breakout season at Freiburg, returning eight goal contributions in 19 games across all competitions for the Baden-Württemberg club.
According to a report by Bild, Bayer Leverkusen and Napoli are monitoring Manzambi, who is often deployed in central midfield, but can also play as a second striker. Making his Bundesliga debut just shy of turning 19, the Servette youth academy product has since made 30 appearances across all competitions for Freiburg, scoring six goals and providing a further six assists.
Manzambi’s performances for Freiburg earned him a call up to the Switzerland national team in June 2025, where he’s since scored three goals in eight games under Murat Yakin, “He has an incredible hunger for goals, I’ve rarely seen that in a player,” added the Swiss head coach.
With a contract at Freiburg until 2030, it’s conceivable that Manzambi could return more than the €25m SCF received from Brentford for Kevin Schade, their record departure.
