Life as a Liverpool fan right now is wild. Transfers are being sanctioned before the end of the season and all of a sudden, rumours about Florian Wirtz are a regular feature on social media.

Furthermore, the celebrations from this current Premier League campaign have barely got going, with one game left to play before Anfield plays witness to the trophy lift next week which will be followed by a city-wide trophy parade which promises to be a box office spectacle.

To be specific, the transfer that has been 'sanctioned' is for that of Jeremie Frimpong, who is yet to be confirmed by the club because the transfer window isn't open for another 12 days on June 1.

However, talks are also said to have taken place with Milos Kerkez's representatives over a move, while he still has two games to play with Bournemouth before his season is over.

The Reds are both mentally and physically on the beach, as seen from leaked pictures of the players' mid-week trip to Dubai, yet the executives at the club are already looking at transfer proceedings.

Leverkusen break the fourth wall with Wirtz

Links with Wirtz at Leverkusen seemingly appeared out of nowhere last week, although Liverpool have long been great admirers of the young player's talent.

But of course, while the Premier League is still taking place, the Bundesliga came to its conclusion last weekend, so their players are quite literally already 'on the beach' starting their holidays.

As such, transfer business is already being conducted and Liverpool are seemingly to get in on the act now that the club's main objectives for the season have been completed and given there is a lot of outgoings and incomings to manage this summer. Why not get ahead early if you can?

Given the nature of Wirtz's transfer, which is likely to be to either Liverpool or Bayern Munich following reports today that Manchester City are no longer interested, with Leverkusen set to demand a £100m transfer fee, every single journalist is constantly reporting their intel on the situation.

It can be a lot to process, working out which bits of information look to be reliable and which parts are merely conjecture, but the number of impressions that Wirtz's name is delivering is remarkable.

And don't Leverkusen know it, with the club's social media giving fans a glimpse of their perspective.

Attached with a picture of Wirtz's name on the X trending page, spelt 'Writz', the club's social media admin wrote "At least spell his name right" - a direct nod to the speculation regarding the player.

If a figurehead journalist such as Fabrizio Romano or David Ornstein of the Athletic get involved with transfer stories, you can also consider the link to a player to be that little bit more legitimate, but rarely will you see a club comment about interest in their own player, which makes this special.

So far, it seems as though it's just Liverpool or Bayern Munich who have a chance, and given the German club are a direct rival of Leverkusen's you can be optimistic that Liverpool could genuinely be a destination for the 22-year-old playmaker, which it is a tantalising prospect.

In the comments of the post, Liverpool fans were quick to brandish the Bayern fans with the spelling mistake. Who knows which accounts are liable for the errors, but we're grateful it caused the update.

All summer long you can probably expect different bits of intel being reported, because the transfer is unlikely to be one the club can agree straight away. Both clubs will be desperate to get get a deal sorted, but for £125m, you have to do your due-diligence, even though Wirtz's profile looks faultless.

But if the early business from the Reds is anything to go by, then fans have every right to feel confident about the club's ability to get the job done when negotiations come to a peak.
