Bayer Leverkusen loan Axel Tape, 19, to Levante for 2026/27 season | OneFootball

Axel Tape, 19, will spend the 2026/27 season on loan with UD Levante from Bayer Leverkusen. The one-year move is intended to secure regular first team football, and no purchase option has been announced.

In a club statement, managing director Simon Rolfes said Leverkusen have high hopes for Tape after a first year disrupted by injuries and strong competition, and highlighted his pace, athleticism and versatility.

Tape joined Leverkusen from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2025. Competition and fitness issues restricted the French youth international to only six Bundesliga appearances.

Able to operate in defence and midfield, he offers positional flexibility. The switch to Levante is viewed as a development step rather than the start of a permanent departure.

Consistent minutes in La Liga should aid his progress at senior level before returning to Leverkusen next summer.
