Erik ten Hag has sensationally been sacked by Bayer Leverkusen after just two games in charge.
The German club have decided to act after a home loss to Hoffenheim was followed by a 3-3 draw at Werder Bremen, in which Leverkusen threw away a 3-1 lead against 10 men.
In a short statement, the club said "Bayer 04 has parted ways with head coach Erik ten Hag with immediate effect. The assistant coaching staff will temporarily take over training duties."
There has also been grumblings from club captain Robert Andrich, who said "everyone played for themselves" after the weekend's result.
The former Manchester United and Ajax manager replaced Xabi Alonso in July, but saw most of the 2023/24 Bundesliga-winning squad depart the club in a summer of serious upheaval, most notably Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Granit Xhaka
