Bayer Leverkusen have reached an agreement to appoint Carles Martínez as their new head coach, according to Marca, Sky Germany and Bild.
The Spaniard is set to arrive from Toulouse to take charge.
Out of contract after three years in charge of the French club, Martínez is expected to sign a two-year deal with Leverkusen.
The 42-year-old previously worked as a youth coach at Espanyol and FC Barcelona.
Kasper Hjulmand has not yet been formally dismissed, though it has long been reported that the Dane has no future in the BayArena dugout.
