After scoring a brace to give Bayer Leverkusen a crucial 2-0 win against Wolfsburg, Paulinho isn’t thinking about his contract situation just yet.
The Brazilian stole the headlines on the weekend as his Leverkusen side took a massive step towards Champions League qualification. With Paulinho’s contract ending in 2023, the forward was questioned on his future with the club by Kicker.
“I’m not dealing with this topic at the moment. We have to talk about it at the end of the season. Now there are seven games in which we have to qualify for the Champions League. I have to make the decision that is best for me and the club as well.“
When asked about what he liked about Leverkusen, Paulinho added: “I’ve always felt the support from the club and the fans. That’s why I’m so happy here, but you don’t know what the future will bring. After the season, we will see what happens.“
