Bayern CEO breaks silence on Real Madrid interest in Michael Olise | OneFootball

Real Madrid are reportedly very close to completing the signing of the highly-rated RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, and the Merengue club’s fans are understandably very excited about this potential transfer.

Meanwhile, this transfer is also going to have significant implications for the market. One of the richest and most powerful clubs in Europe, Paris Saint-Germain, were previously close to landing him, but Los Blancos hijacked this move in the last stages, and they were naturally not too happy with the developments of the last few days.

On the other hand, although they are not directly involved in this operation, another club that would be feeling relieved by these developments must be Bayern Munich. For most of the summer, their star forward, Michael Olise, had been linked with a move to Real Madrid, but now with Diomande’s signing, Florentino Perez has already got his superstar player, and there is no space in the Merengues’ forward line for another player of Olise’s stature.

Now, after the danger of losing their star player has passed, SPORT reports that the Bayern Munich CEO, Jan-Christian Dreesen, clarified that the Bavarian club had never received any offer from Los Blancos for the French star. The official made it clear that the Spanish side did not even make an inquiry about the forward:

Like other Bayern officials, the CEO also made it clear that the French forward is not currently on the market:

“Of course he will stay with us. He is a player we value highly and who has delivered great performances for us. There are no doubts in this case, just as we have said that the player was not on the market. He is a great asset for Bayern.”

Now, with the threat from Real Madrid as good as over, the next challenge for Bayern Munich will be to convince Michael Olise to agree to a renewal, as they want to keep him in their ranks for a long time to come.
