Bayern Munich’s chief scout Nils Schmadtke is under internal pressure amid concerns over leaks, and his role could be at risk, with Manchester United’s Christopher Vivell touted as a possible successor.

Sport1 understands Schmadtke has faced criticism inside the club since spring 2026, with some senior figures blaming the scouting department for repeated leaks of personnel plans.

Sport Bild claims Bayern have already identified Vivell as a potential replacement.

Vivell is head of scouting at Manchester United and was previously technical director at Chelsea. His contract with the Red Devils is due to expire in June 2027.

During his time at RB Salzburg, Vivell is believed to have played a key role in recruiting Erling Haaland and Karim Adeyemi.
