Jamal Musiala is currently the dominant topic of conversation at FC Bayern. After two collapses on the field, he revealed publicly that he has been suffering from absence seizures for some time, though he says this does not pose a major health risk.
Nevertheless, it is affecting him at the moment. His medication needs to be carefully adjusted—in such a way that he experiences as few side effects as possible while also remaining seizure-free.
And that’s where Musiala is currently walking a fine line. It will take some patience until everything is back in sync. Nevertheless, there is hope that the offensive player will be able to return to the roster as early as Friday’s match against Stuttgart.
However, Musiala was recently removed from the roster for the Super Cup match against Dortmund due to the two recent incidents. Instead, the player has been training individually and remains in close contact with the medical staff.

Vincent Kompany spoke to Sky about his current impression of Musiala ahead of the match. He highlighted how the player is handling the current situation. “I’m impressed by Jamal. We also see what’s going on behind the scenes. The way he’s handling these setbacks is impressive. There’s a lot going on around him. We saw his level of play in preseason after the surgery,” said Kompany.
Precisely because of what we’ve seen in training, the recent setback is frustrating. “And so it’s a real shame that he’s not with us right now. But we’re being patient, and I’m being patient. And I also have a lot of confidence. I’m not too worried. The most important thing is that he just has fun on the field,” the Belgian explained.
So a little more patience will still be needed—that much is clear from the latest updates. But everyone at the club is confident that Musiala will get back into the swing of things completely.
