Givairo Read is one of Bayern Munich’s ‘top targets’ for the summer transfer window, reports Christian Falk.
The Dutch right-back has garnered interest across Europe with his eye-catching displays at Feyenoord in the Eredivisie.
The 19-year-old defender has registered one goal and four assists in 16 games (across all competitions) in the 2025/26 season.

The reigning Bundesliga champions feel that Read’s versatility would make him a superb fit for a Bayern squad that will be reshaped in the summer.
“It is TRUE: Givairo Read is Bayern’s top target for the right-back position. The Dutchman is one of the club’s top targets anyway; they want to sign this player,” Falk exclusively informed CF Bayern Insider.
“They’ve got many ideas about what they’ll do with this kind of footballer.
“Bayern, of course, have a lot of right-backs available (or players who can fill the position). We know they want to sell Sacha Boey, for instance. If they bring Read in, Josip Stanišić could play more centrally in the defence, and Konrad Laimer can play in both the backline and midfield.
“Givairo Read can also play on the left side of the defence if Alphonso Davies is out. So there are many options. I think Read’s a very, very interesting player for this Bayern squad.”
The Bavarians have struggled to develop a consistent identity with the right-back position, relying on a mixture of Konrad Laimer, Sacha Boey and Josip Stanišić.

The stats are very kind about the Feyenoord fullback, portraying the 19-year-old as a remarkably creative option.
He ranks in the 86th and 74th percentiles, respectively, for assists and chances created compared to his positional peers in the Netherlands’ top flight.
Read is also extremely competent on the ball for his age, being comfortable in both carrying the ball and taking possession inside the opponent’s 18-yard box.

Bayern aren’t the only elite European outfit potentially in need of right-back reinforcements.
Liverpool, for instance, have to consider their long-term options, with Conor Bradley’s injury record proving somewhat problematic.
We know the Reds are keeping an eye on Givairo Read, whilst Premier League leaders Arsenal have previously been credited with some interest.
However, it remains to be seen whether Liverpool intend on keeping the faith in their Northern Irish fullback for the foreseeable.
The summer transfer window will certainly offer a more clear indication on the matter.
