After Bayern Munich’s 1–3 loss to Arsenal in the Champions League, defender Jonathan Tah agreed with his coach and pointed to fine margins as the decisive factor behind the defeat. The German international stressed that Bayern were not overwhelmed in effort or intensity, but ultimately fell short in key moments.

“In the end, it came down to the details,” Tah explained. “Especially in the second half, the game shifted too much in their favor, and we couldn’t maintain control.”

Tah dismissed the idea that fatigue or workload played a role in the performance. “It wasn’t about intensity. We’re used to playing twice a week for long stretches — that’s not an issue for us. From my point of view, it was the small details before the goals we conceded, where we weren’t sharp enough or where the opponent was simply sharper.”

Those moments, he said, proved pivotal. “Because of that, the match swung in the other direction, and we couldn’t turn it around.”

Tah’s assessment echoed the overall mood in the Bayern camp: disappointed, but convinced that the defeat was more about precision than effort — and that the team still has the tools to respond.
