Kane's brilliance breaks the deadlock

Injury blow for Bayern

Despite Leon Goretzka being forced off with an injury shortly before the break, the visitors maintained their advantage until half-time, with Freiburg struggling to create clear-cut chances against a well-organized Bayern defence. Kim doubles Bayern's lead

Bayern started the second half with intent and doubled their lead in the 54th minute. Kim rose highest to meet Joshua Kimmich's expertly delivered corner, powering a header past Atubolu. The goal showcased Bayern's set-piece prowess and seemed to put them firmly in control of the match. However, Freiburg were not ready to concede defeat and began to push forward with increased urgency.

Freiburg fight back

The home side's persistence paid off in the 68th minute when Matthias Ginter pulled a goal back for Freiburg. The defender met Ritsu Dōan's corner with a well-placed header, breathing new life into the contest. The goal energized the home crowd and set up a tense finale as Freiburg pushed for an equalizer. Both teams made tactical substitutions in the closing stages, with Freiburg bringing on fresh attackers in an attempt to find an equalizer. Bayern, however, showed their experience and resilience, managing the game well in the closing stages. Despite Freiburg's best efforts, including some dangerous set-pieces, Bayern held firm to secure a vital 2-1 victory.

Player of the Match: Minjae Kim

While Kane's opening goal was crucial, Kim's all-round performance earned him the Player of the Match accolade. The South Korean defender not only scored Bayern's second goal but was a commanding presence in defence throughout the match. Kim's aerial prowess was evident in both boxes, and his composure on the ball helped Bayern maintain control even under pressure. His goal and defensive contributions were vital in securing the three points for Bayern, and he topped the fantasy rankings with 339 points.
