Bayern Munich’s goalkeeping crisis has intensified after Sven Ulreich joined Manuel Neuer and Jonas Urbig on the injury list.

With Neuer and Urbig both out, the third-choice Ulreich made a rare start in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen, but he picked up an injury during the game. Bayern confirmed on Sunday afternoon that he had suffered a muscle bundle tear in his right adductors.

The 37-year-old will be out for now. Neuer is not expected back until after the international break, while Bayern remain hopeful that Urbig can return for Wednesday’s Champions League round-of-16 second leg against Atalanta following the concussion he sustained in the first leg.

With fourth-choice Leon Klanac sidelined with a thigh injury, 16-year-old Leonard Prescott could get his chance if Urbig does not recover in time for the Atalanta game.

Prescott was on the bench for the matches against Atalanta and Bayer Leverkusen.
