Bayern Munich are keen to extend Michael Olise’s contract and make him the club’s highest-paid player, according to L'Équipe.

The club view the France international, 25 caps and seven goals, as a long-term pillar and are prepared to commit significant funds to keep him. Although he had dreamed of joining Real Madrid, he is under contract until 2029 and will stay for at least one more season in Germany.

Olise produced 22 goals and 31 assists in 52 matches last season. He has thrived under Vincent Kompany, who has helped elevate his game.

If Bayern can agree an extension, it would likely include a release clause, which was not part of his initial deal.

As of last April, Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala were the club’s top earners on around €2.1m per month.
