Bayern Munich started their 2026-27 Champions League campaign with a comfortable 2-0 win over Bodo/Glimt at the Allianz Arena on Thursday.

After a goalless first half, Bayern broke the deadlock through Jamal Musiala before Harry Kane scored with a header.

Michael Olise scored a spectacular goal, but Luis Diaz struggled to make an impact.

Bodo/Glimt went down to ten men towards the end of the second half after Odin Bjørtuft was shown the red card.

After a slow, patient build-up, Bayern had their first sniff at goal in the 10th minute, as Harry Kane tried to curl an effort from distance, but it went straight at goalkeeper Nikita Haikin.

Bodo defended really well, and while Bayern maintained possession, they could not carve out clear-cut chances.

Michael Olise had a decent effort on target with his left foot after cutting inside, but Haikin made a comfortable save.

The best chance of the first half fell to Joshua Kimmich, whose left-footed low shot hit the post and caught everyone by surprise.

Moments later, Jamal Musiala wriggled past a couple of players and had a crack at goal, but Haikin was equal to the task.

Bayern ended the half with little purpose or intensity, and Kimmich had another effort on target with his left foot, but Haikin saved it comfortably in the end.

The home side started the second half strongly and, most importantly, got an early goal through Jamal Musiala.

Harry Kane’s left-footed shot ricocheted and fell to Musiala, who found the far post with a fantastic volley.

Harry Kane, who narrowly missed an earlier chance, scored his 34th Champions League goal for Bayern after meeting a header from Michael Olise’s cross.

After the second goal, Bayern completely dominated the game, and they got hungry for more goals, as we generally see with Vincent Kompany’s side.

In the 76th minute, Bayern got their third of the night when Alphonso Davies struck with a fierce left-footed shot from outside the box that rifled into the net.

The late substitutions allowed Michael Olise to drift into the middle, and with a clear sight of goal, the Frenchman struck with his gifted left foot from 20 yards out to make it 4-0.

Olise was unstoppable in the closing stages of the match, and he wrapped up a comfortable night for Bayern with a brace, firing a left-footed shot from the centre of the box into the top-left corner.
